Offsite SEO is essentially the steps that are taken, and moves that are made outside of a certain website that can positively affect that website’s ranking results through search, and create authority. Offsite SEO is key to building a trustworthy, and reputable website. Great offsite SEO happens by other internet sites, pages, outlets, and people promoting or linking your website through their channels. Having great SEO it is a form of digital assuring that can be the difference of whether an outside consumer chooses to view/use your website vs. another.

Offsite SEO is super important, mainly because of the reasons stated towards the end of the last paragraph. Also, according to Moz.comstates “While we don’t know the full algorithm Google uses to rank content, data from our Search Engine Ranking Factors study show that off-site SEO-related factors likely carry more than 50% of the ranking factor weight.” This means that more than half of your search optimization rankings are dependent upon offsite SEO. In other words, you cannot have a high SEO ranking without credible offsite SEO.

The key to offsite SEO is backlinks. Backlinks are links to a website outside of that websites pages. These are the links that provide the credibility to receive higher rankings in SEO.
The more backlinks you have out there on the web (through credible sites), the higher the value and rankings in SEO.
There are 3 types of links that fall under the tree of offsite SEO which include, natural links, manually built links and self-created links. Natural links are just that natural. These links are organic links that outside sites/pages use to talk about your website. Examples of this form of link is a fashion blogger writing a blog on their favorite clothing items. Manually built links are links that are built through different link-building actions. An example of this would be on different social media pages where there is space to include a link on a profile. Self-Created links are links that one may place in different forums, blog comments, message boards, etc. in order to drive traffic to their site. In addition to these links, not all web links are created equal. Different aspects of a website come into play to determine off site SEO value web rankings. Things such as website credibility/trustworthiness, the sites popularity, anchor texts, and the authority of the page all have an effect of the sites value toward SEO.
